WSU Students Break Wi-Fi - National Record
82 miles @ 2.4 GHz.

Two-way DSSS communication via 2.4 GHz band at a distance of 82 mi.

WSU students break the current national record of establishing a wireless link via 2.4 GHz band with direct sequence spread spectrum DSSS (802.11b standard) at a range previously held by INTERLINE company, a leading Polish microwave antenna producer.

Previously this record was subject to theoretical dispute. The aim of the enterprise was a practical assessment of the possibilities and a study of phenomena concerning such a link.
